The largest complex of geothermal power plants in the world, spread across the Mayacamas Mountains north of San Francisco, California, generating commercially since 1960. Its dry steam field powers more than a dozen plants, and treated wastewater injected into the reservoir since the 1990s sustains steam production that earlier decades of extraction had depleted.
