The first and only United States deployments of the Westinghouse AP1000 reactor, at Georgia Power's Plant Vogtle near Waynesboro, Georgia. Unit 3 entered commercial operation in July 2023 and the 1,114 megawatt Unit 4 followed in April 2024, years late and far over budget, completing the first new American nuclear construction finished in decades and lifting the four-unit plant past Arizona's Palo Verde as the largest nuclear power plant in the country.
